some nighttime shots with mr tsx

Thoughts? For my first attempt Id say it isnt too shabby. I dont have any daylight shots yet, I had to borrow a friends camera to take these since someone stole mine.

Almost done, just a few things I want to touch up stylistically

I photoshopped this up when I was aligning mine, maybe it will help someone out. I also wrote an explanation on aligning them, as I understand it. This photo may appear confusing at first, but this is the method for properly aligning projectors. Now, the somewhat "dashed" line is the height from the ground to the center of the projector itself. This is where the light would be if you were right against the wall. In order to align these, you have to have the car approximately 25ft from a wall on relatively even ground. Beneath the first dashed piece of painters tape you will see a second. This is approximately 2.5" beneath the one above it demonstrating the DOT legal cutoff point. What does this mean? In short, at 25 ft, the cutoff of the projectors needs to fall between 2.1 and 2.5" inches to be legal (not blind people). It goes without saying that lights are aligned based off the left light, not the right. The 2 pieces of vertical tape represent the center of the kick, or where you see the lower portion of the cutoff slant upward to the higher portion. The two pieces of tape are at a specific distance, in this case they represent the distance from projector to projector on the car itself. You'll notice I have set my right lamp slightly to the right. I am doing this as a safety feature. The output of the lights is so substantial that I wanted to throw a small amount further to right to help me spot an animal, person, whatever potentially running out into the street at night.

Here's the traditional tsx color mod...

Quick nighttime snap. The lights are semi-flat black, shrouds are semi-flat, chrome blinkers.

This is a straight comparison of the OEM STi HIDs versus my retrofit. The difference is night and day, both of these photos were taken with the same camera and simply cropped / resized.

wow, looks great!, I can't wait to see more project pics.

I'm curious about the in reflector aiming bit also... I see the awsome results you guys are getting, but with regards to getting the projector to sit straight in the reflector bowl, is this the right procedure? :
1) get the bolts on the projector through the holes in the old reflector and back the nuts against the inside of the reflector.
2) add nuts to hold projector in place on the other side of the reflector.
3) turn on and see... if they are off, losen the outside nuts and reposition the projector? then do step 1 again?

I need to wash the car, but for now here is a mild teaser. I'll be throwing in a set of ccfls at some point soon. I realize this fails to show the detail on the shrouds themselves, etc.

No tripod, borrowed camera. Decided to take a trip over to GT. This is quite possibly the best I could do. I plan to wash the car and go back out there to get some quality photos. I realize if I played with HDR I could really achieve better results with these. Its late, and Ill fuss with it tomorrow. Anyways, I wanted to take a few to demonstrate the length and width that these guys put out -- its intense!

enjoi,
alex

Considering I had no tripod, I took about 100+ and ended up with 12 or so.
