That's an "oh shit that's not good" moment there. I look close and realize to my horror, that the solenoid wires connect DIRECTLY TO THE SOLENOID. Meaning that solenoid is DEAD. I am sitting here with a 1/2 done retrofit, headlights all hacked up and am leaving on a 700+ mile trip in 4 days. I freak out, posting online for any spares. The next day, the dude I purchased them from tells me he has a couple of spare solenoids from wrecked headlights. Overnights me one and it works thank god. |

haha that it terrible. and when i posted that it was before haloween but no takers then.
i have three that happened at once. o have an 07 impreza and i wanted to black out the tails a headlamps. so i do a little (very little) looking and decide to bake my tail light assembly like a freakin dumb @$$. i super nervous so i check it every 2 minutes. nothing seems to be coming apart, so i try to pry it with a knife. pop. there goes a little egde of the clear part.... i would up leaving it in there for 7 minutes till i noticed a terrible smell.... i pulled it out really quick and the back part was melted. i went online to find out you DONT bake them... you DREMEL them. dammit. so i order a new light and im waiting for it to arrive and i have these nifty little halos from lightwerkz and i decide to put them on. the baking worked better for the leadlights as they are held by rubber stuff. get the housing out black it out and put on my light. put it together. wow, looks nice! so i start my other one and i thought to myself "self, how do these people get the lights out of the plastic rings?" so i pulled and the glue that was holding one of the edges in lets go and the halo snaps...... i still have tiny glass shards in my floor. so i have to order another one and while im waiting for it and my brake light im driving around with one brake light justting out an inch too far and one blackedout eye with a halo and one chrome eye without... so embarassing. finally got my halo and put it in great now the front looks good, the tailight came in the mail and it was for an 06. the 07 is chrome the 06 is painted silver..... dammit. so now i have two different colored tail lights and im out of money. i finally get a little more money and finally i have matching headlights and my tails match the car paint so im happy with them and will NOT be cutting them open..... im such an idiot. haha |
